Bently Nevada Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer Systems aredesigned to measure absolute (relative to free space)bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The two-wiresystems consist of a transducer and appropriate cable. The Seismoprobe family of velocity transducers is a two-wiredesign that uses moving-coil technology. it provides avoltage output directly proportional to the transducer'svibration velocity.
Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact orimpulsive excitation than solid-state velocity transducerswhich are inherently accelerometers with embeddedintegration electronics.
Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact orimpulsive excitation and can represent a good choice forcertain applications. Because they don't require externalpower, they are convenient for portable measurementapplications.
