The 3300 XL 8 mm proximity sensor system consists of the following components:
One 3300 XL 8 mm probe,
One 3300 XL extension cable, and
One 3300 XL Proximitor* sensor.
The output voltage provided by the system is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed point. The system measures both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values, with the output voltage being proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface.
This system is primarily used for vibration and position measurement of fluid film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor* reference and speed measurements.
The 3300 XL 8 mm system features the most advanced performance in eddy current proximity sensor technology. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard (Fourth Edition), including mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.
All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity sensor systems offer this performance level and support complete interchangeability of the probe, extension cable, and Proximitor sensor without the need to match or calibrate individual components.
Each 3300 XL 8 mm sensor system component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL sensor system components. This compatibility extends to 3300 5 mm probes, making it suitable for applications where the 8 mm probe is too large to fit within existing installation space.
