The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Sensor System provides an output of 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil) for non-contact vibration and displacement measurements on fluid-film bearing machines.
The larger 11 mm probe tip gives this sensor system a longer linear range compared to the standard 3300 XL 8 mm sensor system. It is primarily used in applications requiring extended linear range, such as:
Axial (thrust) position measurements
Ramp differential expansion measurements in steam turbines Turbines
Piston rod position or rod drop measurements in reciprocating compressors
Tachometer and zero-speed measurements
Phase reference (Keyphasor) signals
The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor is designed to replace the 7200 Series 11 mm and 14 mm sensor systems.
When upgrading from a 7200 Series System to a 3300 XL 11 mm System, all components must be replaced with 3300 XL 11 mm components. Additionally, the monitoring system must be updated.
If using the 3500 Monitoring System, the configuration software version must be updated to list the 3300 XL 11 mm Sensor System as a compatible option. Existing 3300 Monitoring Systems may require modifications.
