The Velomitor* XA (eXtended Application) Sensor is a ruggedized version of Bently Nevada's 330500 Velomitor Sensor. Its 316L stainless steel case and unique, weatherproof connector and cable assembly permit
mounting without a housing. The Velomitor XA Sensor cable assembly is suitable for use in moist environments, and the Velomitor XA Sensor design meets the requirements of IP-65 and NEMA 4X when properly
installed with a mating extension cable.

When considering housing measurements for overall machine protection, carefully evaluate the relevance of the measurement for each specific application. Many common machine issues, such as imbalance or misalignment, originate at the rotor and typically result in increased or altered rotor vibration. For housing measurements to be effective in providing comprehensive machine protection, the system must accurately transmit a significant portion of rotor vibration to the bearing housing or machine casing, particularly to the transducer's mounting location.
Additionally, pay close attention to the physical installation of the transducer. Improper installation can distort the transducer's amplitude and frequency response, potentially generating signals that do not accurately reflect the actual machine vibration.
